It was a fun little adventure. Nothing mind blowing but a genuinely nice little half day out. Didn’t have to bribe anybody, but possibly because it was pouring with rain. Lots of tourists there, it is exactly what you expect it is… But it was fun 🙂
A must do when in Hue. A Trippy place to go but defo a must see. Shame the lake was almost dry but worth wallong around and having a look.
This place is actually amazing! We decided to get some bikes from our hotel and cycle all the way to the Abandoned Water Park. It was exhausting and not easy to find.. but really worth it! First we had to pay a parking fee[?] and while hiking through the woods we run into ‘guards’ who insisted that we pay the entrance fee, which we did as we didn’t want any trouble. It was about 30000 VND in total so not the end of the world and something you can expect in Vietnam anyway.. But once we finally got there, well, it definitely made an impression. It’s unlike anything I’ve ever seen before. Massive grounds and structures just abandoned.. Quite creepy and bizarre but really cool to explore! If you ever in Hue you should definitely make an effort to visit this place
Really good, great to explore and less than 10 people in the whole place and spread out a lot! Most taxi drivers will wait without running the meter too which is a huge bonus if you’re not up for getting a bike or moped.
Not that difficult to get in. Have 20k dong per person ready, walk straight up to the main gate and chat with the “guard”. He’ll give a speech on how it’s not safe, then you’ll flash him the money and he’ll tell you not to climb on things, take your money and let you in.
Whilst it’s not guaranteed that he will let you in, an alternative way to do it is just as easy, quick walk through the woods, starting about 200m away from the main gate and following the path, and you’re there – you’ll still need to pay 20k per person to an even less official guard, but it’ll work!
Either way you go, walk with the lake to your right and you’ll see all the main spots.
This was one of the most exciting experiences since I started travelling 💖😊
Guards are watching the place, which makes it hard but not impossible to get in 😁
The Guards are persistent in their work, however after some Cat and Mouse 🐈🐭 Games will let you eventually in 👍
Not sure how much longer entry is possible, but it’s defenetly worth a try 😁
Just be persistent and don’t give up 😊💖👍
